A well written treatise on Paul's use of the Old Testament
Hays is a craftsman with wordsIt is Dr. Hays thesis that we can better understand the writings of Paul if we first understand his hermenuetics. And for Paul, that means that he reads consistently the Christian experience through a lens that has been crafted by a fine honing of knowledge from the Hebrew Scriptures. It is in the pulling up of Hebrew Scriptures that preceded or follow the obvious linkage with a particular Pauline passage that we find the most meaning Hays argues.
His writing is compelling, understandable and, yes , persuasive. I would commend this book to anyone who is trying to understand Paul and what he means. This is of particular valuable in developing a biblical understanding of the theological implications of Romans 9-11.

A Great Tool for Affirming YourselfThe affirmations themselves are inspiring and thought-provoking. Physically, the book is small enough to fit easily into a large purse or knapsack, and its hard cover is beautifully decorated. The spiral binding also makes it easy to write in for lefties. The only drawback that I can see is that the space allowed for filling in the day, date and time is a bit small for those of us with larger handwriting.
If you're working with affirmations and self-esteem issues, this is a great tool.

A great introductory work
Finally! An intermediate level hermeneutics book.

Ya Gotta Work Before You Can Play! What my wife really enjoyed about this book is that Kevin and his dad spend the first 2/3rds of the book doing CHORES around the house together. So, ladies, if you want your man helping out more with the laundry, the dishes, the windows, etc., this is a good way to get your kids pestering Daddy to do just that.
This is a well-written, well-paced book, and is age-appropriate from 3 to 7-8. A very pleasant read. Highly recommended.
